Understanding your website traffic is pretty much the only way you can improve your site to get more traffic, because the things you learn will help you to plan the way forward with your SEO campaigns. Understanding what works and what doesn’t means you can focus on the good side and less on the not so good. Understanding where people find your site will help you to focus more on increasing exposure in these areas.
It’s all about understanding and we help you and your team to understand how it all works and more importantly how to use the information for your company’s benefit!
All of our sites and the sites we produce for clients always come equipped with Google Analytics, it’s something we really do recommend, even if the client does not want to know any information about their traffic. We also help our customers to understand the reports we produce and also provide them with full access to your statistics at any time, we have nothing to hide and nor would we want to.
What Is Website Analytics?
Although there are hundreds of systems and pieces of software on the market, some costing hundreds of pounds, we use the free Google Analytics, which in our opinion is by far the best analytics system on the web, due to the level of reporting facilities and the amount of information it can digest.
Basically, website analytics is a tool for recording statistics. How many people come to your website, how many pages they visit etc. But we can now also record what pages they look, where they click, where they come from and basically, how they use your website. Over the past 4 years, the system has improved so much that it is now so important we make sure we install it on all of our sites and our client’s sites as well.

We always speak to you before you come down for the session or course, to make sure the course is exactly what you need, meaning we do not have to cover anything you or your staff might already know.
Introduction – An introduction into Google Analytics, what it is, how it can help you to understand how your website is working and a quick look at the development and evolution of this amazing bit of software.
Installation – We give you the information you need to install the tracking code successfully, whether you have a static or CMS controlled website.
Section Overview – Section by section, we go through each of the areas of Google Analytics and provide you with a brief overview of all the features and reports you can generate from the system. There are lots of sections on Google Analytics; we will go through them briefly and then stop at the ones that you might feel are the most important, or we can recover these at some point during the session if you would like to know more.
Traffic Sources And Overview – One of the most important factors of Google Analytics is to show you where your traffic is coming from and how your visitors find you. We go through in detail how to use this section to your advantage after we show you how to use this information wisely.
Setting Up Goals – Many people overlook the importance of using Google Analytics to set up goals to track how well your website is converting certain things. Goals can be anything from someone spending more than 2 minutes on your site all the way through to purchasing your product.
Linking To Cost Per Click – Many webmasters overlook the fact you can link your Analytics to your Cost Per Click Adwords campaign and get even more in-depth reporting, including ecommerce tracking as well. We take you through how to link the two together and then move on to using the newly found information to improve your pay per click campaigns.
Producing Reports – Google Analytics is equipped with a wealth of reporting opportunities that are often overlooked by the average user. We will show you how to make custom reports, set up automatic reporting and a whole lot more, meaning you will always have the information you need to hand.
At the end of the session we will have a question and answer session and all attendees will go away with a hand out on the days training, with our full contact details should you need any help once you have left our training centre.
We are able to offer training sessions and courses for up to 15 people at any one time, although if you are going to bring a large group, we would recommend you spend either a half day or a whole day with us and if you do, we will also make sure you are fed and watered as well!
